Most of the truss rod covers said "Made in Holland". It looks identical to the Edmond guitar that George Harrison from the Beatles used. It's my understanding they were plentiful in the UK in the late 50s and early 60s because they were cheap. The guitar says 'Egmond' on the headstock, has a serial of 15011019 and thats about it.
Very little info on the cheap acoustics, even though that was what they seemed to make mostly. There was a website run by a descendant of the family, not sure if it's still active. The local pawn shop had the two pickup model for the entire decade of the 70s I think. The Princess was actually not a bad guitar. It has a 30" scale but everything is tucked together so close I can use regular guitar strings (14-58 or so). The body on that is really cheesy plywood. I built a baritone guitar using an Egmond bass body, pickups and fingerboard and an Aria Telecaster neck. Occasionally, later on, he switched to a prototype model Takamine electro-acoustic which was much easier to amplify in live gigs.I've owned a few Egmonds, a small archtop, a small student size acoustic, and a single pickup 335 style, I think it was called a Princess or something.
